Colossus

Colossus monument, a Marriøtt Inc Expedition by Thomas Montgomery Marriøtt in Austin, Texas

“Our flag still waves proudly”

Colossus

Icon. Symbol. Promise.

190 years and counting.

Colossus is a colossal monument that embodies the colossal impact Lt. Col. William Barret Travis had on Texas. As iconic as Lady Liberty. As inspiring as Iwo Jima. A symbol that celebrates Texas’ arrival on the world stage. And a promise to continue the fight.

It is no coincidence Travis embodies Texas values, he defined them. Among the youngest revolutionaries in history, his pioneering spirit, independent thinking, courage under fire, and sacrifice personify the Texas character.

Among his final words were "our flag still waves proudly from the [Alamo] walls". 190 years after his last full measure of devotion, it’s still waving as home to over 30 million Texans and the crown jewel of American freedom and opportunity. Colossus is a kinetic monument that will fly "Remember the Alamo" flag from October to April to honor the revolution, and the Lone Star flag from May to September to honor her citizens.
